IE Very Slow

Hey all, I have started to face a strange problem. all
these days my IE 6 was working fine; all of a sudden its
becom damn slow;dunno why!! after a double click it takes
nearly a minute to open up. whereas other browsers like
OPERA and Netscape are working fine. Tried repairing,
installed SP1, used default settings, deleted index.dat,
have tried all the possible methods. But still the same
problem persists. can anyone help me plz

Hey Kris, Your not alone, I have the same problem for the
10months or so. I posted my IE.6 problem today, please
let me know what suggestion you get. I spoke with Dell
sometime ago they suggested that I completely remove
everything (ie, software programs etc..) then load them
back up, they adding that this is tyical for PC's over a
year old and happens any where from 9 to 16 months old
PC's, go figure.

I did the same thing as you, switched to a new browser,
and just like you I had know problem it aswell. I have
more the enough ram over 700mb. let me know what you find
out, we just might need to take Dells suggestion.

You should make sure that "gator" is not loaded on your
system.. You can check in the c:\program files\common
files..Do a search for the word "gator." Remove it and
everything should return to normal.

I use spybot [free],- and webroot's window washer [they each
get what the other misses],
to clean out the easy
100MegaBytes accumulation of trash, garbage files, spyware, useless
registry entries, etc.,
that IE and windows can easily store on your hard disk in just
one days' surfing
