IE Tools Advanced Tab content missing

I just noticed that my advanced tab is empty. The tab is still there but there's
nothing in it. I'm thinking it had something to do with the latest IE security
update I installed tonight (Q831167) . Something happened since then because my
desktop content won't synchronize anymore and that setting ("Enable offline items
to be synchronized on a schedule.") is in the advanced tab. My system restore
points were deleted because of another problem so I can't go back and there's no
uninstall option for the security update, if that was even the problem.

Anyone have a similar problem?

Well, I just compared my IE reg entries to those from my backup system and I
discovered that everything in
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AdvancedOptions]
was gone. So I copied the pertinant entries and now everything is back. At least I
*think* everything. Still not sure of the cause.
