IE Toolbars

ARGH!! Now with that out of the way. How can I stop
selected toolbars from appearing each time I open IE??
Never had this problem before. After downloading a
stupid software for smilies of all things, all of a
sudden I have this annoying search toolbar that haunts my
dreams now. I can go into View > Toolbars and deselect
the search toolbar to make it disappear but how do I make
it go away for good? Any suggestions are greatly
appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Chrissie,

First option is to run Ad-Aware scan (www.lavasoftusa.com)

If the toolbar entries are not removed still, start Registry Editor
(Regedit.exe)

Go to the following location and check each GUID sub-key. One of which is
the malware toolbar entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions

Also, check here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions

{check the values in the right-pane to identify the malware toolbar.
