IE Toolbars

Box134

I have the Google toolbar installed. I try to stay away from those things,
but I do find that a very useful one.

Anyway, when I did an F11 all my toolbars would shrink to one line. Then I
got an idea to rearrange elements on the MS toolbar. After I did that, F11
shrinks my toolbars to two lines and no amount of rearrangement will get it
back to the original state.

I just can't see any logic to how IE picks what's visible when I do an F11.
The Google toolbar is always visible. I'd like to have the address bar
visible under those conditions.

Anyone know how to control what toolbars appear when viewing full screen
(F11)?

Hello Box134,
Anyone know how to control what toolbars appear when viewing full screen
(F11)?

IE6 stores two separate toolbar layouts, one for the normal view and one for
fullscreen (F11). Simply configure what toolbars you want to have visible by
right-clicking in the toolbar area when you are in fullscreen mode.

Unfortunately, IE7 only shows the address bar in fullscreen mode and does
not allow to add other toolbars like in previous versions.

Hi Viktor and Box134,

You can tweak the Theatre bar layout with these steps.

Open IE in a normal window and choose what toolbars you want displayed in
the Theatre mode.

Close IE to save the changes to the WebBrowser\ITBarLayout registry key.

Open regedit and Export the ....Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser key to
a reg file.

Open the exported reg file with a text editor and change the registry key
value to

....\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

Change the name of the data value ITBarLayout to Theater

Save your changes then select the file to merge the changes back into the
registry.

You will find this tweak for download from

http://www.iecustomizer.com/ITBarLayoutDownload.htm

Regards.

You're lucky if you can see the Google toolbar then.
So, why not just use Ctrl-o instead of the Address bar in that mode?

I agree with Viktor, normally you won't see anything but the default bars
in Fullscreen mode. Note, however, that that statement assumes
Auto-Hide is active in Fullscreen mode. If you disable Auto-Hide
(e.g. press Alt-Space,H) you can see your full set of toolbars.

I didn't know about the two toolbar layouts. That was what I needed. Thanks
for the tip.

I haven't even tried IE7. Maybe I shall.

Hi Viktor and Box134,

Thanks for the tip. It's also a good way to back up the toolbar layout.

Well, that's a good question. Other than F11, I don't use many keyboard
shortcuts in IE, which is a shame. They are great time savers. I guess one
gets too accustomed to mousing things.

Thanks for the reply.
