IE times out too quickly

I think IE registry entries may have been altereted by
some spyware or the like that IE seems prone to. b/c often
when I'm suring I'll see a page start to load and then get
thrown to a 404 error. Where's the regictry key I would
need to check and what would be the deafult setting?

This is actually only happening while I'm in yahoo mail
(something similar I think is affecting Joann in her
thread:

IE 6.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

SpyBot-S&D

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

A common cause of that symptom is bad overrides in your HOSTS file,
which might have been added by KaZaA.
