IE suddenly stopped working.

Internet Explorer 6 was working all right last night, on WinXP Pro.

This morning it will not open any web pages. It gives the message "The page
cannot be displayed. Cannot find server or DNS error."

Outlook Express is working fine. Norton AntiVirus and Ad-aware detect no
problems.

What should I do to put things right, now I have no internet access?

when my ie suddenly stopped I could still ftp - if you can then theres still a way. I got this stuff (below) off the web
I have scanned with everything i could download edited the reg

The remedy, I found by trial and error, was to first disable Norton Personal
Firewall. Then when I opened IE, I found IE working. So I closed IE, and
re-enabled Norton Personal Firewall. Everything, including IE, is now
working fine. Users with a similar problem say on other newsgroups that the
fault happened to them after a particular Symantec LiveUpdate.
