IE still having javascript problem

This is a follow up to an earlier post that is now buried
several pages down.

I am having a problem (and several others are) not being
able to click on any javascripts from web pages. This
includes form submission buttons, some menus, etc. (I had
to download and use Mozilla to be able to post this)

I tried loading and unloading the MS Java VM, AND the Sun
Java VM. Neither one made a difference. The latest one I
loaded was 1.4.2_03 from Sun. I am running Win XP Pro on a
2.4GHz Dell.

Is there a way to completely remove IE, then reinstall it?

For reference, I have also gone through the security and
advanced settings and set everything to allow scripts to run.

I have the latest patches available through Windows Update
(which now won;t run either b/c it relies on the borwser).
Any additional help is much appreciated.

The Java VM has nothing to do with JavaScript.

You might want to refresh your scripting engine:

Sometimes there's a corrupt file in the cache and one must go to Tools |
Internet Options and click Delete Files.
