ie still closes

alright i had a previous post yesterday and i read what
someone told me i should try to do. i scanned my computer
with ad aware, i scanned it with spybot and i updated both
of them before using. spybot detected somet things and
fixed them as did ad aware. but when i open the ie6
browser and switch websites the send report box still
comes up and shuts down the browser. sometimes i get an
explorer error which says "EXPLORER caused an invalid page
fault in
module MSVCRT.DLL at 0177:780154a7." now i dont know if
its actually IE doing it or my computer itself but i also
get that error alot when i open aol instant messenger. i
just reformatted the other day and im running on windows98
se. so i think something has to be wrong with msvcrt.dll
and ive tried replacing it with another msvcrt.dll that i
downloaded and it says that windows is currently using it
so i cant replace it. i dont know what that .dll does so
does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi skippert :)

It is also likely you have parasites, spyware, adware, malware, or
hijackware on
your system causing the problem, which your antivirus will not detect, as it
does not have the same definitions. Download and install, then you *MUST*
update the programs prior to running to be sure they have the latest
definitions, then run the programs below. They are free and very effective.
Be sure to run both SpyBot and Adaware, as what one does not detect the
other may. It is important that you follow all directions carefully:

You can go to the links below to check your system for parasites
http://aumha.org/a/noads.htm
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/parasite.htm

IMPORTANT:
Before trying to remove spyware, download a copy of LSPFIX from
the URL below - some malware may kill your internet connection when it is
removed, this program will enable you to regain your connection.
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

It is important that you run the programs in the order that they are listed
here. The first three programs will clear your machine of all other items so
that you can have a clear HiJackThis Log for the experts to read and analyze
for you.

(NOTE: If you can not download these programs from the Internet, if your PC
has CD read capabilities, go to another computer with CD-ROM burning
capabilities. Create a folder on the hard drive of the other computer called
HOLD, download the programs to that folder, then burn that folder to a CD.
Copy the HOLD folder to your HD and then install the programs from there
and run them. After you have IE access again, update all programs where
possible to get the latest definitions and run them again to be sure there
are no lingering items on the system.

button. Press that, save the log some place you remember where it is.
Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so DO NOT fix
anything yet.

Open a the copy of your log in NotePad and made a copy. Then you can go here
to post you log:

Go to the HiJackThis section on the forum list and click to open. You can

least a few hours or a days time for a response.

Remember, you must return to the HJT site to get your answer. It is a good
idea to click the "Notify" box so that you will get an electronic

But, you must still return to the site of your answer

well thank you to everyone who helped me out on this. i
finally got everything to work alright (so far) i went to
the link that someone replied and gave me at
http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?
p=157459#post157459
and if anyone was having the same problem as me which was
when you open AIM or Internet Explorer i would get an
error saying "internet explorer/aim has caused an invalid
page fault in module msvcrt.dll" click on your start
menu/run/ type in "sfc" which is system file checker...
click on "extract one from system file disk" have your
windows installation disk in your cd-rom drive and type in
the .dll or file which is causing problems in my
case "msvcrt.dll" and it will replace it for you. thats
how easy it was for me to get my stuff to work. i tried
all kinds of things and none of them worked but this did,
so thanks to everyone who helped me out on this subject.
