IE shutdown

A couple of days ago, my computer started rebooting
itself down whenever I opened IE6.0. I use an ADSL
connection, and am able to access my e-mail, and I can do
online banking from within Quicken, with no problems.
Occasionally I can glimpse a short eror message before
the reboot starts.

Anyone have any ideas?

HELP!!!!

HELP!!!!

Open the Internet Options applet in Control Panel
Uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions" on the Advanced tab.
Also, set your Home Page to about:blank

Then eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

Thanks for the advice.

The first part of your suggestion did not help, however,
when I UPDATED the Spy-Bot and AdAware programs, they
both found a bunch more scumware that was hiding on my
system. After running them both, my IE now works like a
charm.

I also d/led a bunch of the utilities you referred to.

Thank You.
