IE shortcut icon is Recycle Bin

All my IE shortcut icons are the Recycle Bin.

If you try to change one, it goes right back to being the
Recycle Bin icon.

There must be a way to change it in the Registry. Anyone
know how?

It is probably just your icon cache has become corrupted. You can try
fixing using the free ActivIcons utility from
http://www.cursorarts.com/ca_aifw.html

First, go to its "Desktop Controls" screen and increase the icon cache
size to at least 2048.

Next, rebuild the icon cache. The options for rebuilding the cache are
on 2 small round buttons at the lower/right corner. Shut down any
programs running in the background, then click the round button
farthest to the lower/right corner (your system will reboot, and the
cache will be purged of any old icons).

If that doesn't fix things, then you can also use it to browse through
the icons which are set in the registry (you can do this from its
"Default System Icons" screen).
