IE Search From Address Bar

Hi I am looking for information on how the search from address bar
feature works in Internet Explorer. I have a web site which for a
number of reasons may be moving real slow and causing timeouts on
clients browsers. When the browser times out I believe it is looking
for the most likely site and picks some random site that has nothing to
do with mine. What is the logic the IE uses to determine which site to
go to? Does it look for similarities in the page? Does it just do a
search on a search engine? Thanks in advance.
