IE Scripting Error whilst opening control panel

Hello,

Here's an interesting error that has got me stumped. Any solutions would be
gratefully
received as I really don't fancy reinstalling windows.

Everytime I open up Control panel I get the following error:

An error has occurred running scripts on this page
....
Error: Library not registered
Code: 0
URL: file://C:\WINNT\Web\controlp.htt
.....

I've had a good look around on the internet. Tried reinstalling IE6 and the
scripting
engine all to no avail.

Any ideas?

From the "Run" box try;
regsvr32 %windir%\system32\appwiz.cpl

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\webvw.dll
to rebuild several *.htt files

If unsuccessful try
sfc /purgecache
sfc /scannow

Or try the regedits described in;
Add/Remove Programs Tool Displays Installed Programs Incorrectly

If the problem persists, you'll likely need to perform an in-place upgrade.
