IE saving JPEG not JPG

Hi, my IE (when I have to use it) I am a Firefox user. While in the firefox
forums, I was told that there is a problem with IE that it will save pics as
JPEG and not JPG.


Is there a way so to fix this so all images can be saved as JPG.

and if you put .jpg at the end of a pic it only saves like this:

picsaved.jpg.jpeg

As far as I know, Internet Explorer..

Save Picture | Save as type:
JPEG (*.jpg) or Bitmap (*.bmp)

IE saves as *.jpg not *.jpeg.

Normally that is not a problem. If it is saving with the wrong
extension, run regedit.exe, open to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\image/jpeg
and in the right pane double click Extension, to set to .jpg instead of
..jpeg
(also at the next subkey, image/pjpeg)
