Hello,

This only started last night, but when I select to Save Picture As...
whatever the format of the picture on the web site, it always saves it as a
BMP file. I've tried going to Animation Factory and saving one of their
animated GIFs, but it saves it as a Bitmap. Why has it started doing this?

The only thing that I think I changed was I downloaded the latest 2 security
patches from Windows Update last night, but I didn't restart my machine
after the patches were downloaded and installed. Though I have switched on
the machine this morning and I still have the same problem.

Any ideas? I'm using the latest IE.

Control Panel|INTERNET OPTIONS

In the Temporary Files section, press the button to delete all files - and
answer YES to "including local content"...

Excellent, problem solved.

Why does that solve the problem and why does it do this in the first place?

Temp Net Files overloaded?

It's a long running bug with IE6. Yes, the problem seems to be index.dat
overload (the default allocation for temp internet files turns out to be
ridiculously large with modern disks), but why it causes this particular
error, rather than something more obvious, is a mystery.
