I had a problem (already solved by reinstalling windows) in winXP that
caused IE to render pages incorrectly. Wouldn't matter that much (because I
use Firefox usually) if the rest of my system wouldn't depend in IE. The
results of IE failure are as follows:
1. When I double click User accounts in Control Panel (hope I got the
translation right) all I get is just an empty page.
2. Same happens when I want to view list of services in Extended view-just
blank page. Normal/Simple view is ok.
3. When I want to search for files and folders I see this stupid little dog
moving its tail but neither text nor fields where I could enter name of my
file are present.
I tried sfc /scannow (or was it /scalall? never mind, checking took about
half an hour and found nothing), reinstalling IE (that was to do with this
inf file in windows folder) but it didn't help. What can I do next time I
experience such problems (instead of reinstalling windows)?

To resolve the problem, type these commands from Start, Run dialog:

regsvr32 jscript.dll

If that does not help, execute the following commands as well.

regsvr32 nusrmgr.cpl

regsvr32 /i mshtml.dll

from...
User Accounts applet is completely blank

see these others as well.

Several dialog boxes are blank

Thanks a lot for the tips, but I can't check it now since I reinstalled
Windows (this was the fastest solution).

I hadn't even thought of that fix. ;-)
