IE on Win XP takes long time to start up?!?

P

Peter

lately, my IE is taking about 60 seconds to start (from duble klick to be
able to run)

I have run all kind of spyware detection SW, I have always used a firewall
(ZA) and so on.
I don´t run Kazaa and I have deleted a ot of stuff from the registrys "run",
I have sniffed the network when starting IE without any suspicios traffic, I
have run filemon/regmon but nothing seems to help/give any clue.

Though, there are a difference when starting IE from either the desktop or
the "run" ways and choosing "file/new window" from inside IE. The last part
choosing "new window" goes by normal speed and no latency but the first ways
takes a loooong time :-(.

Any idea what to look for?

Regards /Peter

have you deleted your temp internet files lately ?
Clean out these files and set the max size to about
50Mb.. That can speed you your browser a lot !

Here's another try:
Tools, Internet options, the General tab,
accessibilty..., then uncheck {format documents using my
style sheet}
If this doesn't help then it's over to the specialists...
