ie not working

When I open ie 6 it opens a windows and then shuts itself
a few seconds later no matter what site I try to go to.
How can I fix this?

same thing.. ie 6 stopped working yesterday...

i had 2 windows open that had been open since monday am and then tuesday night i clicked a few links.. everything was fine, but "open in new window" crashed ie and it hasn't opened since..

this has included a few system restores, attempted reinstalls of ie and very many restart

MS please figure out whats going on!

i can't even send error reports (it seems to be something to do with the networking components, as windows explorer and help both work, and they use a lot of the same funcitonality

The IE Error Report generates a "appcompat.txt" file.
This can usually be found in:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Temp\

Paste the contents (if found) in your next message.
