IE not staying open

Whenever I try to open IE, it opens for a few seconds, just
barely loading, and then the message pops up: Internet
Explorer needs to close, we're sorry for the inconvenience.
I'm running XP, and for some reason all these search
toolbars and things like that automatically installed
themselves and some of them i cant uninstall. Please help.
