I am using W98 SE and Earthlink software (IE6) and about a
month a problem began to happen. When I double click on the
browser icon the password dialog box would come up and I
would type in my password and hit enter. Normally the next
box to appear would indicate that the modem is dialing,
but lately the password box just sits on the screen. If I
check the applications running I find that IE is not
responding. Sometimes running scan disk will restore it,
sometimes stopping and restarting the brower causes it ot
respond. Is there hope for this PC? Thanks.
