IE Stops responding when I use pulldown from address bar

IE works fine until I try to use the address bar pulldown, then it stops
responding.
The crash analysis suggests Yahoo toolbar update, which I did. No solution.
I've uninstalled the toolbar. No solution. Ran Antivirus. Ran Spyware
program. problem still exists. Do I need to re-install IE? I don't download a
bunch of misc stuff and this problem began aparently out of the blue. I had
been using the toolbars for sometime.

I'm responding to my own problem because I found the solution in case anyone
else is having the same issue. Windows recent update MS06-015 creates a
problem with other software, in my case the HP share to web. Microsoft
support page has instructions to edit your settings. Do exactly as it says
for your computer and then restart. It worked for me.

I have a similar problem except that the pull down that locks me up is the
File, open menu. When I type in an address and select it, the window stops
responding and when I force it closed, IE closes down. I also have run every
thing recommended by Microsoft to now avail. I'm posting this as a response
to your posting to give you moral support and hoping that somehow you have
resolved the problem.
