Thanks Frank!
I ran CW Shredder and Hijackthis! along with updating and re-running Ad
Aware and Spy Bot. I have posted my Hijackthis log in the Spyware info
Forum (wrestlingdr). Hopefully I will get additional advice. Thanks for
your help.
Doc
kenny - Thanks for your help. I ran spybot, removed Wild Tangent and
"fixed" the other problems that were reported by the spybot scan. A
follow-up scan by spybot now shows no problems. However, IE still is
locking up. It starts to load and you can see the page start to come
up, then it stops. I have IE6 and am running Windows 98. Any other
suggestions that might help?
I can use Netscape as my browser, but the same thing happens when I
try to open a link from Netscape. If I type the address in the
browser, it will go to the site.
Also, when it tries to report the error to Microsoft, that window
will also lock up and I have to reboot the system.
No anti-spyware program catches everything. See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post
back
in the same thread.
