Matt

My internet explorer loads the page quickly but when it is
about to finish it stalls for 10-15 seconds not allowing
me to scroll, click, or type, and the status bar remains
full aswell until the stall is over. what is the problem?

I have the same problem with my IE 6.0.2800.1106IC running
on Win 2K Professional. IE 6 is updated with SP1, Q832894,
Q330994. It happened last week. I am not sure if it
happened right after I applied some Windows security
updates. The browser hangs/stalls for 30 seconds and I can
not do anything to any window. It is very slow an annoying
to have to wait for 30 seconds after each page load.

thanks for any suggestions.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back

Followed recommendations and FIXED - no more delay. Apparently had a lot of entrenched ad/spyware. One drawback - now I cannot perform certain on-line functions such as bank account transfers, etc. Receiving error message that DLL is missing. Any suggestions?

Does it say what DLL is missing?

I'm running XP and the same problem (IE slow to load) reared it's head
3-4 days ago here as well. If you also use Outlook, you'll notice
certain message previews also "hang" for the same 10-15 seconds. This
has to be a new security flaw in MS. I have found no solution.
