IE keeps crashing, patch didn't fix it

I have IE 6 on XP. IE recently started crashing every few
minutes when open. I have submitted the online error
reports, and did find info that it is a known defect and
there is a patch to fix it: q812989.exe. I installed the
patch and rebooted, but IE still crashes every few
minutes. Anyone else have this problem? Know how to fix
it?

Post the complete error you're getting.

The fix listed in http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=812989 is only
available by contacting Microsoft. Did you get it this way?
