IE is freezing

I've noticed that a bunch of people are having the same problem as me with IE6. When I start up IE, the page loads up, shows that it's done on the bottom, but the page freezes for about 20 seconds or so. Once it unfreezes, any link I click on that takes me away from the site i'm currently on does the same thing at the new site. This is really frustrating. I've done just about everything you guys have done to try and fix this. It just started about two days ago. Does anyone have an answer!!! HELP!!!!

Same problem here. Only thing I can think of is I installed and
starting using Mozilla Firebird more often instead of IE, but that was
a several weeks ago, and the problem just started this morning
(3/1/04).

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
