IE icon missing from both start menu and from IE folder in program file

Hi,

I am using IE6; Update Versions:; SP2 with Window XP Professional.
Recently, my IE icon and content (the whole folder) just magically
disappear from the start menu. In addition, my IE launching icon is
gone from my IE folder in program files too but the rest of the program
is still there.

Now, I have to open my ie browser from other programs that have their
online support in the start menu. Everything else works fine, though.

How can I fix the problem and where can I find the ie icon to set it
back in my start menu.

Thanks,

Beau

Hi,
Did someone try to uninstall IE? With XP, this would remove shortcuts to IE,
but not uninstall teh program.

Anyway, try these steps:

Right-click the taskbar. Choose Properties> Start Menu> Customize> Add>
browse to Internet Explorer.

Control Panel> Add/remove programs> Add/remove Windows components> Put a
check by Internet Explorer> click on next.

Control Panel> Display> Desktop> Customize Desktop> Check Internet Explorer.

Control Panel> Add/remove programs> Set program access and defaults> Working
with either Microsoft or Custom, enable access to IE and (possibly) make it
the default browser.

Hope this helps,
Don
