IE Home Page Keeps Changing

R

Ruben

My home page keeps changing to sp.html#96676 (a search
site). Spybot detects this and gives me a warning message
and I reply "no" to revert back to my original home page.
I am seeing "R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL =
res://C:\WINDOWS\system\rhzcc.dll/sp.html#96676" in my
HijackThis Log. Where do I find this line and can I
delete it from the file that it is in to prevent this from
occurring. I already have Ad-aware, Spybot, HijackThis,
CWShredder, SpywareBlaster, Scorch and Norton running but
still a problem. Thanks, Ruben.

Make sure that you have the latest version of, AdAware, Spybot and
CWSherred.
Return to each site and check.
Run them if new version found.

If all fails get version 1.98 of Hijackthis, run it and post your .log file
to this forum.

Next, go to the below location:

Sign in, then copy and paste both files in your message.

Do not close your computer wait for an answer. If you do the parasite will
use an other random name to hide.

Hi Ruben - Just a bit contrary to Henri's advice in one respect, you'll get
much better and faster help with HiJackThis outputs if you go to one of the
following forums instead of posting in this newsgroup:

Spyware and Hijackware Removal Support, here:
http://216.180.233.162/~swicom/forums/

or Net-Integration here:
http://www.net-integration.net/cgi-...86d536d57b5f65b6e40c55365e;act=ST;f=27;t=6949

or Tom Coyote here: http://forums.tomcoyote.org/index.php?act=idx

or Jim Eshelman's site here: http://forum.aumha.org/

or Bleepingcomputer here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/

Register if necessary, then sign in and READ THE DIRECTIONS at the beginning
of the particular sites HiJackThis forum, then copy and paste both files
into a message asking for assistance, Someone will answer with detailed
instructions for the removal of your parasite(s). Be sure you include at
the beginning of your post "What problem(s) you're trying to solve" and
"What steps you've already taken."
