Hello,
I have an up-to-date version of IE, and SP2. Whenever I type in an address
that doesn't work (e.g. www.aslkdjf.com), IE tells me that it's not available
offline and then prompts me to make a dial-up connection. Then if I type in
a real, working address, I have to tell it to reconnect. I'm wondering if
this is related to the fact that if I do the same thing using Firefox, it
will crash the browser. I also can't do quick searches in FF without it
crashing. I've tried uninstalling, creating a new profile, and restarting.
I've also expressly told Windows SP2 Firewall which is the only firewall
running to allow FF. I've never had this problem on any computer. I also
don't know where to turn.
THANKS
Jeff
