IE favorites

All of a sudden all the links under the FAVORITES menu
disappeared and now every time I try to bookmark a page
it won't save it.
I have one laptop with and Admin account and a limited
account. This happened under the limited account and the
Favorites seem to be working fine on the Admin section.
I just downloaded IE 6 and re-install it but nothing has
changed.

Does anyone have any suggestion? This is driving me crazy.

Also, is there a way to somehow recover the favorite's
list somewhere?

Find the old Favorites folder and either copy the contents to the new
Favorites folder or change the Registry entry.
You can change the value of Favorites in the Registry in these
two keys:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders

You can recover the favorites if you have saved them by using
IE-File-Export but I guess if you had done that, you wouldn't be
asking.
If you have backed up the Favorites folder, then you can recover the
favorites files and folders inside, but you probably haven't done that
either.
