IE exits by itself

Using Windows XP: Whenever I start internet explorer, within fifteen seconds, the program exits by itself -- no error messages, nothing. It's just like the X was clicked. I've run a virus scan with up to date .DAT files, and the computer is clean. I have restarted the computer several times. I have reinstalled IE twice, but have not uninstalled before reinstalling (can't find the disk). Have defragged, cleaned out temp files. Any help/suggestions are appreciated. Please respond to (e-mail address removed). Thanks!

I have a similar problem with I-Explorer closing by itself.
When I launch IE it accesses my home page fine, but when I
click on any link it closes by itself. I've been forced to
use Netscape to access the Web. This is fine except some
sites don't work with Netscape.

I also can't find a way to uninstall IE. I too would
appreciate any help.

This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)
