IE Errors IE6 on Win98SE

These two errors have been occuring more and more within
the last month. No new software has been install on this
Windows 98SE machine and all updates from Microsoft are up
to date.

#1. "An error has occurred in Internet Explorer will now
close. If you continue to experience problems, please
restart your computer."

#2. "This program has performed an illegal operaion
and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact
the program vendor."

Will re-installing Win98 help or could it be a problem
with physical memory?

With your anti-virus application disabled the entire time, please to go
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com and install the latest updates and
patches for IE and OE (at least). They will include Q818529 and Q330994.
