IE Encoding Problems

Hi All

I've been having a few probelms with displaying certain characters
consistantly on IE and Outlook.

Basically, I've set the Read default encoding on Outlook to Western European
(Win), as I was told this was the default by someone. However, the pages do
indeed load with this encoding, but pound signs in some pages are replaced
with "J", and some non-English characters are displayed incorrectly.

However, when I manually change the encoding to Baltic (Win) this problem
goes away. But, if I refresh the page, the default encoding kicks in and
changes it again.

My questions are, is my western european encoding corupt or configured
incorrectly? Consequently, can I obtain another version of this encoding or
restore it some how? Or should I leave the default encoding as Baltic,
although this doesn't always work on some pages?

Thanks in advance

Did you see my reply in your previous thread (concerning unknown
default characterset and your language settings)?
It would be best to continue there, in case others have more
suggestions after reading about your new observations.

The site you cited there appeared to be a UK one, so perhaps you
should try posting in a newsgroup which is more frequented
by UK users to get more shared experience.

For questions about Outlook try an Office newsgroup.

Good luck

Thanks Robert

I only reposted this because I don't think I made my point clear in my
previous post.
One the subject, both you posts have been very helpful

Thanks again

Mark
