IE Download Problem-Help Immediately.

I'm having problems downloading items that I usually am allowed to download.
For example:

Page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed,
or is temporarily unavailable.

Please try the following:

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is
spelled correctly.

Open the ftp-mozilla.netscape.com home page, and then look for links to the
information you want.
Click the Back button to try another link.

Hi Gigasoft :)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, but, try the
following and see if it helps:

The problem 95% of the time is with the Temporary Internet files. Clearing
them and the off-line files usually resolves the problem. Try this first,
and it no joy, post back and we will look further for the culprit.

Clearing the Temporary Internet Cache -
Safely Delete the Temporary Internet Files
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
Note: Any links listed in your Favorites (including any pages you saved for
offline viewing) will not be deleted when the History is cleared normally.
Therefore, you must also check the box next to Delete ofline files on the
dialog box as well when you clear the Temp Files to be sure all files are
deleted

or.

Delete view off-line files not the pages File, Save as.

Hope this helps.

I'm using Windows XP.

I deleted the files but still no luck.

Also, usually a message appears at the top in yellow saying something like
'Download stopped for your protection' but now it goes straight to the 'page
cannot be found' error.

I recently re-subscribed to Norton Anti-Virus, in case that matters.

Hi Gigasoft :)

Just for diagnostics, disable the Norton, and any other 3rd party programs
or toolbars you might have. What happens?

What type of file other than Firefox are you trying to download? Are they
all exe files?

It is XP SP1 or XP SP2? It does make a difference.

Read the information here and see if it will help:
What to Do When You Receive "The Page Cannot be Found" Error Message in Your
Browser

Please include all parts of the prior message with your replies for
continuity. :)

Hope this helps.
