I cant search usind search engines such as Yahoo, google,
lycos, etc. Everytime I attempt to search through these
engines I recieve "The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had
its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Please try the following:

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make
sure that it is spelled correctly.

Open the www.yahoo.com home page, and then look for links
to the information you want.
Click the Back button to try another link.
Click Search to look for information on the Internet.

Hi David.

To resolve ur issue u have to delete all the host files
from ur computer.

Here are the steps for that:

1) From the Start menu on your computer, click Search. (In
some versions of Windows®, you must click Find.)

2) Select All files and folders. (Some versions of Windows
list this option as Files or Folders.)

3) Type "hosts" (without quotation marks) in the file name
box and click Search. (Some versions of Windows list this
as Find Now.)

4) Once you locate the "hosts" file within your Windows or
WINNT directory, right click the file and click Delete.

Note:-- Please delete all teh host files from ur computer.
you also have to delete lmhost file , if you are unable to
delete it please close internet explorer browser.

PLease reply me back as soon as ur issue is resolved.

EMAil ADDRESS:- (e-mail address removed)

Thank you
James.

See:
http://www.sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/trojan.qhosts.html

Trojan Qhosts hijacks the HOSTS file, however unlike normal redirectors,
this one hides the HOSTS file in the "Windows\Help" folder.

See: http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
Download: either "RenHelpHostXP.bat" or RenHelpHostME.bat"
Follow up with the link provided instructions .......

Get the latest hotfix:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/security_bulletins/ms03-040.asp

If no joy, run the Beta "Hijack This" utility which detects the HOSTS
file that has been
taken over.
