I for some reason cannot open IE anymore and can only get my Netscape to open. Each time I get the message "the program has encourtered a problem and needs to close". When I got to MS site to try to re-install this after the trying to setup it states I have a later version, and that setup cannot proceed. What the fudge! So I can't reinstall or fix it with I guess version 6.something that I have. Anyone know a way to help me. MS makes you pay for every kind of help because they are suuuuch a great Co.

When you click the Internet Explorer icon, window may flash a second and quits. Or, it may show an Error-Reporting dialog. This may be due to a malware Browser Helper Object which causes Internet Explorer process to terminate. If you see the Error-Reporting dialog, click "to see what data this report contains" and identify the Module Name causing this error. In most cases, it may be the spyware DLL. Therefore, reinstalling Internet Explorer [in case of a spyware DLL] may not help.

To test with: Disable third-party browser extensions in Internet Explorer:

1. Click Start, Run, type Control Inetcpl.cpl
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Under Browsing, clear the Enable third-party browser extensions
(requires restart) check box.
4. Restart Internet Explorer.

You may try the steps listed earlier.

Important note: Google Toolbar blocks only the pop-ups and not the parasites. This is an important point, most users consider pop blockers can kill spyware too. But it's not the case. The following link should explain you that:

Ramesh, Thank you for replying. For some reason...I had a new program "Purity Scan" on my computer too...but I think I may have downloaded a bunch of spyware detection programs with this one to see Gator and others off.

But in my case...there is...IE NEVER starts the instruction you just gave might work right?

If you have any other ideas to remove prevents this crap I would appreciate it and I will check those sites out. I have Google taskbar to prevent ad ware pop ups and that seems like the only thing to prevent these parasites from ruining my surfing.
