IE Cannot download

When I try to download any microsoft update or file, I
get an error message:

IE cannot download X from download.microsoft.com
IE was not able to open this internet site. The requested
site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try
again later.

My Macromedia flash player completely stopped working.
When I tried to download it again, IE just thinks and
thinks (like it does when it's trying to play Flash). So,
I thought I'd make sure I had the most updated version of
IE 6.0. That's when I got the above message. I also tried
to download a Flash UNinstaller and got a similar error
message.

Why doesn't my computer want to download??? HELP!!!

Did you installed Spybot S&D and Spywareblaster?

You may be blocked by a firewall or some 3rd party security program.
