IE cannot connect after updating ZoneAlarms

I have used IE 6 on WinXP with Yahoo DSL for several months.
IE cannot access internet after I downloaded/installed my firewall software
updates (ZoneAlarm). My e-mail does continue to work. This has been this
way for over 1 week now.
I tried a system restore (more than once w/diff points).
I checked that the firewall software is not the problem.
In fact, I uninstalled Zonealarm software.
I've checked IE settings to ensure they were not changed.
Nothing is working. I'm about ready to reinstall winXP, but thought I'd try
this group first.
Help please!

Try this winsock repair tool:
WinsockXP Fix- WinXP http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
Also, with instructions, at http://www.iup.edu/house/resnet/winfix.shtm

Then, check for malware. Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware,
Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

You may have to run the winsock repair again after removing malware.
