IE browsing and My Computer VERY slow

I have read all the various topics regarding the above, bot none seem to
sourt my problem.

If I try to brows by just typing "www.cnn.com" it may take a whole minute
for it to respond. If I then click stop it will and click on a link to
something else, it will pop back to www.cnn.com when it has found it. Adding
"Http://" makes it work like normal.

When I open "My Computer" it may take up to a minute for it to show its
content. I can interupt it by typeing "C:" and it will imediately go that
that drive.

Have have run three different spyware tools, including Microsofts
AntiSpyware Beta 1, without finding anything lateley. I have also run
Registry First Aid without solving anything.

I have WIndows XP Pro SP2 on a Sony Vaio 2.66Ghz P4. 1 Gb RAM

Perform system scans with HijackThis and Autoruns (as illustrated at
http://spywareguy.com/).

on a hunch I uninstalled the software for my HP PhotoSmart PCS 2510xi and low
and behold it is now working fine. I then contacted HP about this and have
just received steps to get around this. WIll test and post if it works. I
did notice several posts about wireless network printers so this may be very
common problem.
