IE starts up VERY slow

Hi all

When I start IE it takes forever for the program to start... when
everything else is running normal speed. Once it is running the pages
load normally. If I do a reboot or log-off, when the computer comes
back up it runs right, starting instantly which lasts for maybe a day.
I rarely reboot my system unless there is a problem like this or other
need.

I have a robust system with most of the junk exe's turned off in the
the start-up. I have completely updated and scanned the system with
the below mentioned AV/Anti-Spyware products...

P4 3.4 extreme
4 Gigs of high speed/quality RAM
Lots of mirrored drive space
XP Pro with ALL service packs & updates
Trend Micro SBS AV
Microsoft Anti-spy running 24/7 (with an occasional sweep of Spy-bot &
Ad-aware)
Checkpoint firewall

This is running on a SBS network and my other PC's (2) and the server
are not suffering from this at all. The problem does tend to be
somewhat random in appearance... but it is quite frustrating...
especially because of a long "server synced My Docs/network" shutdown &
log-on.

Thank you in advance for any help or light you can shed on this!

check the event viewer. Also, try to trace your PC's performance using
Performance Service in Administrative tools.
