IE and Outlook closing

Whenever I open IE or Outlook it initiates the process of
opening but then I get the error message that IE or
Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I've scanned for viruses and spyware and found nothing. My
system isn't overheating.

I'm running a Celeron 1.2 GHz, 256 Meg PC133 RAM, Asus
TUSL2-C, Maxtor 20G hd.

Any ideas?

I highly recommend using HijackThis
(http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip) to identify and
assist in the removal of these bad guys. **Post your files to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.

I've finally been able to run HijackThis and have posted
the log at the spyware forums you indicated.

Pa Bear,

I did what you suggested and IE and Outlook still crash on
me (actually, yesterday so did Windows media player). Any
ways, I rescanned my system and posted the log at Spyware
Info Forums: http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php?
showtopic=18077

My virus software indicates my virus definitions are up-to-
date. They update automatically.

I haven't tried any online scans. Should I try that? It
probably wouldn't hurt. Only thing is if I can't access my
browser 'cause it keeps shutting down on me, how do I do
an online scan?

And which online scan(s)s would you suggest?

Checked back at the spyware forum and did what was all
suggested. IE and Outlook still crashing. I've posted the
error messages there but will post here in case anyone
else has any ideas.
