IE and OE won't run after Service Pack 2 Update

Anyone have a fix for this problem? IE and OE will flash on screen briefly,
then they close. Just downloaded SP2 for Windows XP for the second time.
First time, I uninstalled SP2 due to same problem with IE and OE. Searched
everywhere at Microsoft.com for help already.

Keep SP2 uninstalled and check for hijackware.

Only install SP2 when the hijackware has been removed.

Hi,

Installing SP2 will not cause that problem. What you likely have is some
plug-in or other program that is causing the problem. I would start by
eliminating spyware, these programs can help with that:

Adaware www.lavasoft.de
Spybot www.safer-networking.org
