IE address bar

When I type an address into my address bar it doesn't put
on the http:// prefix so I have to type it in manually.
Anyone experience this before or is their anything I can
do ? I have made sure autocomplete is on. I don't know
what else to try.

In I.E.? Here, all that's needed is the name of the site; the http://and
WWW (if needed) complete when <enter> is pressed.
