IE 8 will not connect to the internet

I have reset the settings, changed the lan and setup (internet connection).
Firefox has no problems connecting to any site.

Any ideas?

Open internet options,advanced tab,scroll to bottom,click on "load advanced
settings" close out,go to run,type:cmd In cmd type: netsh Winsock reset
type:EXIT Restart pc.

Clicked reload advanced settings and did netsh but still does not work.
