ie 7 crashes on opening screen

Downloaded and installed ie 7. Turned off Norton AV and IS first.

IE 7 gives opening screen and immediate error message. "Debug" closes IE 7.
Could not get IE 7 to work. Uninstalled it and went back to IE 6.

Others in other newsgroups seem to have similar problem with runonce?

Sent error message to MS.

Any thoughts on the problem and when it will be repaired?
