IE 6 Toolbar Wallpaper

Dave

In previous versions of IE there was an option to load a toolbar skin or
wallpaper... I have created a color transition in Photoshop and loaded it
into the toolbar... and I did this a couple of years ago... now the humour
.... I have forgotten how to remove it ... does anyone know where I can go to
remove the custom color I created... thanks.

You probably used the IE5 add-on from the Web Accessories.
If you no longer have that installed, then remove the value from the
Registry.
Start-Run-Regedit
Navigate down to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
Delete "BackBitmapIE5"

Alan's advice should help. Or, you can try this command from Start, Run dialog:

rundll32 iedkcs32.dll,Clear

But this resets your customized Window Title, Search URL etc to defaults.

Thanks for the suggestions... what I am looking for is the area in Windows
that I can go to and modify the settings... I would rather not go to the
registry ...

Thanks
Dave

Try Ramesh's advice.
If that doesn't correct it, then you may have little choice but to
remove the Registry value.
I am uncertain if reinstalling the IE5 add-on would fix it but the
procedure below will remove the Registry entry:

Make up a file from the lines below. Copy into a file called fix.reg
which should be created in Notepad. Do not retype, copy in case of
errors. The 1st line in the file is the line REGEDIT4
Make sure your mail or news reader does not add any spaces to the end
of a line.
The last line must be blank.
Doubleclick fix.reg

-----copy below this line fix.reg------------
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar]
"BackBitmapIE5"=-
///remove toolbar wallpaper

---- end file above here
