IE 6 SP2 and maximized windows

My desktop computer is running XP SP2 with Internet Explorer 6 SP2 as
my web browser.

I have several IE shortcut icons on my taskbar and desktop. Yet when I
click them, the IE window is not maximized. Is there a setting I can change
that will fix this? I know how to drag the window to stretch it out, but I
want the window to be automatically maximized whenever I open a link.

Right click the shortcuts. Select properties. Set the window size option
to 'maximised' instead of 'normal'.

I tried that, but don't see any options for window sizes. I'll keep
looking, though.

Nah. I give up. Can't find that option.

OK, now I see that option, but only with regular shortcut icons.
However, that option is not available with IE shortcuts.

The box is labeled "Run:".
Yes, I see that for ordinary shortcut icons, but not IE icons.

Right.

Windows remembers the size of the last Normal IE window closed.
Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.
