IE 6 SP1 is really slow!

Ever since I downloaded IE 6 SP1 from the Windows Update
website, its been really slow! I don't know what
Microsoft did to their browser but they really screwed it
up!! I have DSL and I expect a fast connection!! What
can I do to help speed up IE 6? Please answer, thanks!

same thing happened to me. is you look at task manager
you will find that ie is running 100% cpu. something
broke and i am trying to find out what it is. i am also
trying to avoid backing out all of the sp's and patches.

Try the freeware program, Another Task Manager. 58k
http://www.softlookup.com/preview/dis8368.html
It shows all running processes in realtime with CPU %.

You may find that ZoneAlarm Pro is processing and making requests
while you are not logged onto the Internet! If so, uninstall Zone
Alarm Pro and reinstall it.

It could be another program misbehaving in the same manner, but
ZAPro has been known to break down.
