IE 6 Problem

Jim

My wife has computer w/ Windows XP Home and IE 6 SP1.
Had no problems accessing internet till yesterday
afternoon. Now we get "page cannot be displayed" error,
and status bar shows "finding site:www.incredifind.com"
before displaying error. Have removed SAH Agent program
and its associated files, but cannot access internet.
When I did a file search, I found Winsock.dll, but
winsock32.dll, wsock.vxd and wsock32.vxd were missing. I
suspect that the missing files are part of the problem.
How can I replace the missing dll and vxd files? I
couldn't find them on my Win XP CD...

Also wanted to add the following:
We use Comcast Hi Speed Internet thru cable modem.
Can't access any sites, so I can't download anything (ie,
Ad-aware or Spy-Bot).
IE6 does not appear on Add/Remove Programs list, yet
program still opens (but doesn't open sites).
Tried to uninstall IE6 and do reinstall, both failed.
Attempted clean install of IE6 from Earthlink disc, but
then Win XP will not finish boot. I get msgina.dll file
is missing error.
System locks up when I attempt repair of Win XP.

Any suggestions not already covered above would be of
great help. Thanx in advance...

Your original problem can be easily fixed by downloading
the registry repair for Winsock 2 stacks. Go to any other
PC that is able to access the Internet and download the
LSPfix tool. Run it and it'll repair the damage from SAH
removal.

Hello Hans,
I tried to install IE6 from an Earthlink CD I had, but
then I couldn't log on to Win XP. I got a msgina.dll
will not load error.
