Once in awhile my internet explorer will tend to freeze up! It wont really
close any of my windows but it will show all of the windows closed in my
toolbar. Anyone know what causes this?

You may have low disk space. No, it's not your fault, it's IE's. When you
load a web page, a temporary copy of it is downloaded into your Temporary
Files cache, so it loads quicker next time you access that page. I would
suggest using Disk Cleanup. One of my friends has a 3-year-old Sony VAIO and
he had at least 4 GB of stored temp files after 3 years of Internet. To
access Disk Cleanup, go to Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> System
Tools --> Disk Cleanup and click OK on the dialogue that follows and let it
work it's magic. It may take forever to clean up, but at least your browser
will work again. Post here if you're successful or not.

I do my disk cleanup one a week or more. I have plenty of disk space as well.
I am running a Dell Dimension 8100 w/728mb of ram. I have about 120GB hard
drive space with only about 12% taken up. Anything else that I may be able to
do?

I have been having a similar problem, I will close a window but it still
shows in the toolbar. I go to task mgr and it takes about 3 or 4 times of
closing it there before I can open another window. It happens different
windows but all the time when I use yahoo games etc. I never had this problem
before and I just ran disc cleanup. Of course my autocomplete stopped working
for web pages too so I'm just having computer woes

Hi,
Take a look at
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/archive/answers3.htm#freezing and try any
solutions that are applicable to your OS.

Go to IE> View> Toolbars. Anything there you've forgotten about? Uninstall
any toolbars/buttons that you don't use. BHODemon 2.0 from
http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm will let you easily disable
BHOs to see if one of them is causing the problem.

Then, another program, possibly malware, might be causing this.
