IE 6 - Edit button doesn't function

I thought I was able to edit web pages using the HTML
editor of my choice. My computer is set to have M-Word
edit my online pages but the "edit" button on the IE
toolbar is greyed out. I can't select it on any web
page. How do I get this working?
 
Have you tried it in a local folder? I've noticed with the
SP2 beta that I can use the edit button on the web,
but it used to be grayed out except for local folders.
 
Clear the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the Temporary Internet Files
(folder) be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.
