Can you associate other programs with the Edit button on the IE toolbar?

Hello all,

On the IE toolbar, I have selected to display the Edit button. Clicking on
the edit button displays a list of available programs you can use to edit
the page you are currently browsing. My list shows:
Edit with Microsoft Office Excel
Edit with Microsoft Frontpage
Edit with Microsoft Office Publisher
Edit with Notepad
Edit with TextPad
Edit with Microsoft Office Word

Does anyone know how to add other programs to this list? I tried associated
other programs with .htm using Windows - Open With - Choose Program, but no
luck. I'm wondering if it can be down with a tweak to the IE registry.

My goal is to associate a different html editor (Nvu) that will allow me to
save the modified htm back to its remote FTP server (Microsoft Frontpage
doesn't support this as far as I can tell).

Many thanks.

Hi Warren,

Yes, by editing the registry. See section "Adding HTML Editors" in the following MSDN article:

OK. I followed the instructions in the MSDN doc you pointed me to, but no
success. I was unable to get Nvu to display in the Edit drop down list on
the IE toolbar.

I *think* my edit to the registry is correct. Would you mind taking a look?:

Thanks much,
Warren
